Power plant units
The power plant consists of two plants that went into operation in 1971 and 1994, respectively. The following table gives an overview:
investment | block | Max. Power (MW) | Start of operation | turbine | generator | Steam boiler |

Plant 1 was originally an oil-fired steam power plant with two blocks, each with a maximum output of 120 MW. Another block with an output of 270 MW was put into operation in 1978. All three units were shut down on March 31, 2010. The two chimneys of the decommissioned power station are to be preserved as Dublin landmarks.
Plant 2 consists of two gas turbines and a connected steam turbine with a total output of 480 MW. The efficiency is 52%.
