The Rovinari Power Plant is a coal-fired power plant in Rovinari , Gorj County , Romania . It is owned and operated by Complexul Energetic Oltenia (CEO) and also operated by CEO.

Power plant units

The power plant consisted of a total of 6 units that went into operation from 1972 to 1979. The following table gives an overview:

Units 1 and 2 were finally shut down. A block with a capacity of 500 MW is to be built in its place . Block 5 is currently not in operation. This means that the power plant has an installed capacity of 1320 MW, of which only 990 MW are currently available.
