The Kraken class is a type of pilot boat built by the French shipyard Chantiers Navals Bernard in Locmiquélic . Six boats of this class are in use for the Lotsenbrüderschaft Elbe and the Lotsenbrüderschaft Weser .

description

The class was procured as a dinghy for the pilot station ships Elbe and Weser . The unsinkable and self- righting boats are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic . They have a special hull that guarantees good handling characteristics even in rough seas . The "beak" on the bow , which ensures more course stability and buoyancy, and an almost circumferential fender tube are striking . Up to five pilots can be accepted.
