Krani ( Macedonian Крани, Albanian Kranja / Kranjё ) is a village in North Macedonia and is located on Lake Prespa .

Krani is inhabited by an Albanian majority and a North Macedonian minority. In 2002, 305 identified themselves as ethnic Albanians and 103 as North Macedonians . The Albanians in Krani speak the Tuscan dialect of Albanian . Krani is one of the few places on Lake Prespa where an Albanian population lives.
history
There are many theories about the name of the Krani village. There are theories that say that the name has from the Slavic word Крани (king). Regarding the origins of the villagers, it is known that the Albanian population comes from the Korça district and Vlora , and some of them come from the small Prespa lake in Greece.

The main religion in the town is Islam , followed by the Orthodox Church .
