history

In the Middle Ages , Kranscheid belonged to Kesseling . It is not known when the place fell into desolation.

The settlement

The settlement probably only consisted of a few individual homesteads. It can be assumed that it was not a classic place. The ending “‑scheid” suggests that it is a high medieval clearing settlement from the 9th to 13th centuries.

Apart from a few rudimentary foundation walls, nothing is left of the desert.
