Krassato
Krassato ( Greek Κρασσάτο ) is an autochthonous red wine variety that is mainly grown in the north of Greece in Thessaly , where it is approved for growing quality wines in the regional districts of Larisa and Karditsa . Together with the grape varieties Stavrato and Mavro Naoussis , it is part of Rapsani , which has the status of an OPAP ( Onomasia proelefseos anoteras piotitos Ονομασία προελευσέως ανωτέρας ποιότητος) wine, the highest Greek quality level. In 1999 there was a planted vineyard area of 38.45 hectares .
Ampelographic varietal characteristics
In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:
- The shoot tip is open. It is hairy white and greenish in color. The yellowish young leaves are only hairy cobwebs.
- The leaves are five-lobed and indented to a medium depth. The stem bay is lyren-shaped open. The sheet is serrated to a point. The teeth are set medium-wide compared to other grape varieties.
- The cone-shaped grape is medium-sized and has dense berries. The round berries are medium-sized and blue-black in color.
