The Krastanov Cove ( English ; Bulgarian Кръстанов залив Krastanow saliw ) is a 1.6 km wide and 1.2 km long bay on the southwest coast of Elephant Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . Its center is 8.64 km northwest of Cape Lookout and its entrance is bounded to the northwest by Piperkov Point .
British scientists mapped them in 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named them in 2019. It is named after Captain Ivan Krastanow, skipper of the trawlers Sagita and Fisalia , which operated in the waters around South Georgia from February to December 1978 and May 1979, respectively.
