The Kreisgymnasium Halle (KGH for short) is a general education high school in the Gütersloh district in Halle (Westphalia) . It is currently attended by around 900 students in three or four classes (2015/2016 five classes). They are taught by 69 teachers and 10 trainee teachers.

Founded in April 1961 as a modern language grammar school, the KGH today offers a differentiated range of languages and natural sciences. Recently, the renovation work on the science rooms was completed and the school's laptops were connected to the network. A media / library with extensive book inventory and PC workstations is used for learning. Two PC rooms are available for computer science lessons, but they are also available for any other lesson and in which new media such as the Internet can be used. In the summer of 2006, construction work began on a new all-day area. Since January 2007 there is a cafeteria called "Café Pause" in which sweets, sandwiches, drinks and other baked goods are sold every day. Since the end of 2015 it has been possible to have a warm meal almost every lunchtime.

Since May 25, 2009 the school has had the seal of approval from the Ministry for Schools and Further Education of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . The laudation says, among other things: “For this purpose, a systematic support concept was developed in which independent work, personal development and the development of social skills are of great importance.” In 2001, the school was awarded the seal of “career choice and training-friendly” for the first time for its work School ”for its concept of professional orientation and advice. This award was repeated in 2005. Since the spring of 2002, the school has been participating in the "School and Companies in Dialogue" project jointly supported by the Weidmüller Foundation and the Detmold district government.
Culture
A highlight are the performances of the literature course of the 12 (1995: Biography: Ein Spiel; 1996: Four people disturb Romeo and Juliet; 1997: Jeanne or The Lerche; 1999: Antigone; 2003: Saint Joan of the slaughterhouses; 2004: An inspector is coming ; 2005: Lysistrata; 2006: A Midsummer Night's Dream; 2008: The Good Man of Sezuan; 2010: The Imaginary Sick;) and the youth choir and orchestra (2003: Anatevka; 2005: Iolanthe; 2007: Orpheus in der Unterwelt;). The performances of the musicians take place both in the Carré Amelot in La Rochelle (France) on a professional theater stage and in the auditorium of the KGH. The auditorium offers a seat for more than 500 spectators. The Lysistrata was already performed as part of the Bielefeld School Theater Week in May 2005 at the TAM (Theater am Alten Markt). In June there were two more performances in the auditorium of the KGH. In June 2015 some high school students, under the direction of the teacher Volker Zumbrink, won the youth jury prize with the staging of the self-composed play "Iphigenie in ... Panik" as part of the school theater week at TAM (Theater am Alten Markt) in Bielefeld .
