Jörg Ludewig (born September 9, 1975 in Halle ) is a former German racing cyclist .

Career

After Ludewig became vice world champion in team time trial as an amateur at the UCI road world championships in 1993 , he rode as a professional for various cycling teams : 1997 and 1998 Bayer Worringen , 1999 Gerolsteiner , 2000 to 2004 Saeco , 2005 Domina Vacanze , 2006 T-Mobile and 2007 Wiesenhof -Felt .

In 2003, 2004 and 2005 Ludewig took part in the Tour de France and finished the race as a water carrier in places 38, 55 and 35. One of his greatest individual successes was a stage win at the 2001 Bayern Rundfahrt .

On July 4, 2006 it was announced that Ludewig had tried to obtain doping substances in 1998 . Ludewig admitted to having informed himself about doping possibilities in a fax, but he had never doped. On August 2, 2006, T-Mobile decided that he should not get any more racing in the 2006 season because of the doping problem. His contract was not renewed.

At the end of the 2007 season, Ludewig ended his active cycling career. As a reason he gave u. a. the difficulty of getting an adequate contract for 2008 and the disappointment about the non-nomination for the Germany Tour 2007 by the Wiesenhof-Felt team .

After ending his career as Active Ludewig when started CarbonSports GmbH , the manufacturer of the Lightweight - wheels working as a sales manager. He also was active since the summer of 2008 as the organizer of Germany's biggest mountain time trial , the Lightweight Uphill 2008. In the years 2013 and 2014 Ludewig took amplified as team leader for the team Alpecin to everyone - marathons in the Alps part and took care of the Bielefeld velodrome .
