History and foundation
In 1868 the Sparkasse zu Schneverdingen was founded. Three years later, in 1871, it was decided to found the Sparkasse zu Soltau. In 1934 both savings banks became the Kreissparkasse Soltau. The foundation of the Kreissparkasse Soltau was brought into being in 1999. It pays out funds to associations and institutions in the region every year.
