The route network of the Kremsier Railway

The Actien-Gesellschaft der priv. Kremsier Railway was a private railway company in Austria , whose routes were in what is now the Czech Republic . The routes of the company were in Moravia to the town Kroměříž ( Kroměříž ). The company went into 1887 in the kk priv. Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn (KFNB). The seat of the company was in Vienna.

history

Various projects for connecting the city of Kremsier to the railway network had existed since 1868. The main interested parties were the city of Kremsier itself and some of the sugar factories located there that wanted the railway connection from Hullein.

On September 7, 1880, the municipality of Kremsier finally received “in association with Johann Troltsch, Adalbert Schipek, Leopold Kampf and Dr. Willibald Wildschuh ... the right to build and operate a standard-gauge local train from the Hullein station to the exclusively priv. Kaiser Ferdinand-Nordbahn to Kremsier "granted. The basis of the concession was the Railway Concession Act of December 14, 1854 and the Act on Concessions and Benefits for Local Railways of May 25, 1880. The concessionaires were obliged to start construction of the line immediately and to complete it within six months. In addition, the license document contained the stipulation that "the running equipment, rails and other railway components, as well as all equipment ... are to be procured exclusively from domestic plants". On December 1, 1880, the line was opened for freight traffic and on December 15, 1880 for all traffic. The operation was carried out by the KFNB on behalf of the owners.

On May 2, 1881, those interested joined together to form a cooperative. She received on August 4, 1881 the concession to continue her route to Zborowitz (Zborovice). On October 24, 1881 this line extension was put into operation.

A further extension of the route was planned shortly afterwards from Hullein in an easterly direction via Bistritz am Hostein (Bystřice pod Hostýnem) and Wallachisch Meseritsch (Valašské Meziříčí). The license for this was granted on February 26, 1882 and February 14, 1883. On September 24, 1882 (Hullein – Holleschau) and November 15, 1882 (Holleschau – Bistritz am Hostein) the line to Bistritz am Hostein was opened. From September 15, 1883, the Kremsier Railway carried out the operation itself.

On January 1, 1886, the KFNB received a new concession, which also provided for the redemption of the Kremsier railway and the inclusion of its lines in the Moravian-Silesian urban railway to be built. In this context, the concession for the Bistritz am Hostein – Wallachisch Meseritsch line was declared expired on January 1, 1886. The purchase negotiations turned out to be difficult because the KNFB initially only wanted to acquire the Kremsier – Hullein – Bistritz line. In the end, the entire Kremsier Railway was transferred to the KNFB for 2.1 million guilders . The purchase contract, which is retroactive to January 1, 1887, was concluded on January 7, 1887. The company was handed over on January 14, 1887.

On June 1, 1888, the KFNB opened the new Kojetin – Kremsier and Bistritz on Hostein – Frydek-Mistek lines as part of the new Moravian-Silesian urban railway. The Kremsier – Zborowitz line remained as a local line in the KFNB network.

The route network of the Kremsier Railway had a total length of 42.407 kilometers and was divided into three independent routes:

Driving resources

The Kremsier Railway owned a total of six locomotives, which had been supplied by the Austrian manufacturers Lokomotivfabrik Floridsdorf and Lokomotivfabrik Wiener Neustadt . A special feature was the FÜRSTENBERG locomotive , which also had a small luggage compartment and the option of one-man operation. All locomotives came to the KFNB. By 1926 they were retired and scrapped. None of them remained in a museum for posterity.

The Kremsier Railway owned five passenger cars, two mail cars, 30 covered and 31 open freight cars.
