The railway line Kroměříž – Zborovice is a regional railway connection in the Czech Republic , which was originally built and operated by the Actien-Gesellschaft der priv. Kremsier Railway as a local railway Kremsier – Zborowitz. It runs from Kroměříž ( Kremsier ) to Zborovice ( Zborowitz ).

According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.

history

The initiators of the Kremsier – Zborowitz local railway were the Hanaische Zuckerfabriken. The Kremsier Railway applied for the concession and received it on August 4, 1881. Part of the concession was the obligation to complete the line within six months and "hand it over to public transport ". The license was issued until June 30, 1970.

The line was opened on October 23, 1881, initially only for freight traffic, and on November 1, 1881 also for passenger traffic. The operation was carried out by the kk priv. Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn (KFNB) for the account of the Kremsier Railway. From September 15, 1883, the Kremsier Railway carried out its own operations.

On January 1, 1887, the Kremsier Railway became part of the KFNB and dissolved as an independent company. The Kremsier – Zborowitz line remained as an independent local line in the KNFB network.

After the nationalization of the KFNB on January 1, 1906, the line came to the network of the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB). From January 1, 1907, the kkStB also took over the management. In 1912, the local railway's timetable showed four mixed pairs of 2nd and 3rd class trains every day. Another ran on Sundays and public holidays. It took about an hour for the 17-kilometer route.

After the First World War, the line came to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD).

During the Second World War , the route lay entirely in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . The operators were now the Protectorate Railways Bohemia and Moravia (ČMD-BMB). On May 9, 1945, the entire line came back to the ČSD.

At the beginning of the 1950s there was a significant consolidation of the timetable. Up to nine pairs of trains served the route. In the 1970s, the previous locomotive-hauled trains were replaced by modern railcars.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).

In the 2012 timetable, the route was served by passenger trains every two hours.
