Kreut was a desert and is now officially classified as a hamlet again . It is part of the municipality of Oberhausen in the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen .

Resettlement and the armed forces

The former hamlet was in the period 1958-1961 for the training area of the Burgwald barracks (renamed on 1 December 1964 in "Tilly Barracks") seed off. The last buildings were demolished in 1970. The Tilly barracks was closed on September 30, 1994. The place is in the nature reserve NSG-00582.01, designated on December 1, 2000 .

The “new district of Kreut” of the municipality of Oberhausen emerged from the conversion of the site from the training area to the Tilly barracks: a start-up center and a spacious industrial area.
