Oberhausen is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen .

Oberhausen is in the Ingolstadt planning region . The community is accessible by the federal highway 16 (own entrance) and the Danube valley railway with a train station in the district Unterhausen .

history

Until the church is planted

Oberhausen belonged to the former Duchy of Neuburg-Sulzbach and its court in Neuburg; since 1777 the area was part of the Electorate of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

19th and 20th centuries

In the Middle Ages there was an imperial castle near Oberhausen . Only remnants of it can be seen today. Between the villages of Oberhausen and Unterhausen there is a monument to France's grenadier Théophile Malo Corret de la Tour d'Auvergne from the 1830s. The approximately 300 square meter area is French national territory.

Several residents of Oberhausen and Unterhausen were killed in US air raids on the Wifo tank farm in Oberhausen at the end of the Second World War , and destruction was recorded in both places. The attacks took place on April 9, 1945 by the 8th Air Force and on April 18, 1945 by the 1st Tactical Air Force (Prov.). The municipal area of Oberhausen which was located from 1959 to 1994 Tilly barracks of the armed forces with training area , for the establishment of the hamlet Kreut late 1950s was seed off. The barracks served the headquarters of the Home Security Brigade 56 and the Panzer Grenadier Battalion 56.

Religions

The Catholic parish Sankt Clemens in Oberhausen belongs to the parish community of Sinning . The solitude Höfelhof and the train station also belong to the parish.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipalities of Sinning and Unterhausen were incorporated. On May 1, 1978 Oberhausen became a member of the Neuburg an der Donau administrative association ; Upon application, the community was released on January 1, 1980 and has been a unitary community ever since.

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 1,842 to 2,992 by 1,150 inhabitants or 62.4% - the highest percentage increase in the district in the period mentioned.

Municipal council

As of May 1, 2020, the municipal council will have 16 members; up to now Oberhausen had 14 councilors because it had less than 3000 inhabitants. The municipal council election on March 15, 2020 resulted in the following distribution of seats:

Another member of the body is the separately elected mayor.

Mayor is Fridolin Gößl (CSU). In 2002 he succeeded Xaver Schiele ( SPD ). In the 2020 mayoral election, Fridolin Gößl was re-elected with 88.7% of the vote.

On September 21, 2011, the eight municipalities of Dollnstein , Wellheim , Nassenfels , Egweil , Oberhausen, Burgheim , Rennertshofen and Neuburg an der Donau formed the ARGE Urdonautal , a working group whose purpose is to promote and coordinate tourism in the Urdonautal .

Economy including agriculture and forestry

In 2016 there were 600 employees subject to social security contributions at the place of work in the municipality. Of the resident population, 1220 people were in an employment relationship subject to social insurance contributions. The number of out-commuters was thus 620 higher than that of in-commuters. 22 residents were unemployed in the same year. In 2010 there were 29 farms.

The district of Unterhausen is on the Ingolstadt – Neuoffingen railway line . There is a crossing station there with a branch to the private repair shop Unterhausen of EuroMaint. Tank wagons are repaired in this factory.

Internet / broadband

The community has its own passive fiber optic network ( PON ) which corresponds to the expansion stage of FTTH (Fiber To The Home), i.e. extends into the residential buildings or companies. The passive network is completely owned by the municipality, the active components and the necessary technical know-how came from the partner Sacoin GmbH (now Deutsche Glasfaser GmbH). The municipality was one of the first in Bavaria to take this route in broadband construction and was awarded the Bavarian Quality Prize 2012 for this.

education

The following institutions existed in 2017:

Kindergartens: two (Oberhausen (since 1994) and Sinning (since 1979)) with a total of 171 places and 142 registered children.
Primary school: In the 2016/2017 school year, there were four grades with a total of 128 students (of which three grades were double and one grade was single). The children from the districts of Oberhausen, Kreut, Unterhausen and Sinning are taught.
