About this picture

Langenmosen is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen and a member of the Schrobenhausen administrative community . Until 1958, the official spelling of the community name was Langenmoosen .

Parish parts

The municipality has four officially named parts of the municipality (the type of settlement and the number of inhabitants (status:?) Are given in brackets ):

history

Early settlement 550–650

Langenmosen is one of the most important and oldest settlements in the area around Schrobenhausen . The Agilolfingian Mosa - one of the earlier names for Langenmosen - was the center of an original parish , a judicial district and a Gmain. Instead of today's three localities, there were once ten settlements belonging to Mosen. Sandizell in the south, as far as Königslachen in the east. Today only individual field names are reminiscent of the seven abandoned settlements ( localities ). The early Bavarian row graves on Moosberg- "Fibet" are the most reliable evidence of Langenmosen's early settlement from 550 to 650.

middle Ages

As the chronicler further reports, a strong settlement has grown in the Unterdorf within four centuries , which the rich and respected Count Perchtold proudly called his " Civitas " from 1045 to 1112 . Fratricidal wars and dynastic inheritance disputes interrupted economic life in the entire Gau and Mosen for a long time in the 14th century . When the construction began, there were no more desert farmers, no single farms, no castle seats and no noble estates. From the "Hill-Eck" on the Höcherberg to the grave mill, you lined the Dorfstrasse along Hofstatt to Hofstatt. This is how the long village came into being and even before the end of the 14th century we read here and there in lore “long or long gnoses”.

Thirty Years War to Napoleon

When in 1632 the Swedes under Gustav Adolf came from Munich via Augsburg to Nuremberg to meet the general Wallenstein , Mosen was burned down. For years, the residents hid from the Swedes in the swampy Donaumoos .

In 1796 Langenmosen was sacked by the French. In the wars that followed from 1805 to 1815, Langenmosener also had to serve the 30,000-strong Bavarian army in support of Napoleon . In the end there were 24 dead and missing from the area of today's parish. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , the municipality of Langenmosen was created with the municipal edict of 1818, with the associated towns of Ludwigsmoos and Winkelhausen.

World wars

158 men from Langenmosen, 31 from Winkelhausen and 35 from Malzhausen had to move into the First World War . In the end there were a total of 41 dead and missing.

The Second World War did not spare the Langenmosen community either. In the last days of the war (April 27, 1945) the village was attacked by low-flying aircraft. Five people died in the process. There were a total of 78 dead and missing men in the community.

Incorporations

On April 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Malzhausen was incorporated. Ludwigsmoos came to Königsmoos on January 1st, 1977 , in return, Grabmühle von Untermaxfeld came .

Population development

Between 1988 and 2019 the municipality grew from 1,313 to 1,591 by 278 inhabitants or by 21.2%.
