The organ

The Kreuz-Christi-Kirche is the Evangelical Lutheran church in the municipality of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn . The parish of the parish also extends to the parishes of Aying , Brunnthal , the Hohenbrunn Luitpoldsiedlung, Egmating and Oberpframmern (the latter district of Ebersberg ).

history

In January 1960, the foundation stone for the construction of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Höhenkirchen was laid on the site at what was then Leonhardstrasse 10 (today Esterwagnerstrasse). Eleven months later, on the 4th Sunday in Advent, the church received the church blessing from the district dean Schabert.

From now on the two bells from the ten and a half meter high church tower called the parishioners to the service. The bells were donated by two parishioners and were given the inscriptions “Glory to God in the highest and peace on earth” (big bell) and “ A strong castle is our God ” (small bell). The bell tones were matched to St. Leonhard in Siegertsbrunn. The bells themselves were visible to everyone as the belfry was kept open.

On July 31, 2001, the previous church and the parish hall were torn down after they were found to be in disrepair in 2000. During the necessary construction work, the Siegertsbrunn Leonhardikirche was available for church services in summer, and the Catholic parish center and the Church of the Birth of Mary in Höhenkirchen in winter. The pavilions of the Erich Kästner elementary school on Brunnthaler Strasse could be used for groups, events and the Evangelical Lutheran parish office. The Protestant kindergarten was also housed here until August 2008.

Under the direction of architect Erhard Bachmann from BMBW Architects BDA + Partner (now Brechensbauer Weinhart + Partner Architects) a new church building and new community rooms were built in 2001/2002. The topping-out ceremony was celebrated on February 21st and the inauguration on October 27th, 2002.

On October 31, 2017, the newly created Martin-Luther-Platz was inaugurated in front of the church. Since then, the address of the church has been Martin-Luther-Platz 1.
