Names and history
Executed in four turns, it is known as the Klemheist knot.
Knot
The bay of an endless loop or a tape sling is looped around a rope and the end of the loop is pulled through the bay again. The "ascending" and "descending" ends cross each other tightly. The turns around the rope can be carried out several times, with each further turn developing an additional holding force.
