history

The Strange Death of Liberal England was created in 2005 by Adam Woolway ( guitar , vocals ), Andrew Wright ( bass , backing vocals ), Andrew Summerly ( drums , backing vocals), Kelly Jones ( glockenspiel , backing vocals) and William Charlton (guitar, drums, backing vocals) founded. She took her band name from the book of the same name by George Dangerfield from 1935.

While at the beginning she mainly played instrumental music, vocals now dominate her songs. In 2005 they recorded their first EP , and in early 2007 they released their first single A Day Another Day on Fantastic Plastic . In the middle of the same year her first album Forward March followed! . This sparked enthusiasm from many critics, gigwise.com described it as the best debut album of 2007. With many live appearances in England, France and Germany , their fan base increased significantly.

On July 14th, 2008 she released the single Angelou and in December 2009 they started recording their new album.

On September 13, 2010, The Strange Death of Liberal England released the album Drown Your Heart Again , which was produced by David M. Allen (including The Cure , The Sisters of Mercy , Depeche Mode ).

Musically, it is often compared to bands like Arcade Fire and Explosions in the Sky , the English music press recently referred to them as "Arcade Fire with tattoos ", but the group is now developing away from these bands and towards its own style.
