The Krimml-X-Press is a chairlift in the Zillertal Arena ski area in Tyrol .

Cableways

The 4- seater Krimml-X-Press chairlift runs through the Wilde Krimml and connects the formerly separate ski areas of Zell am Ziller and Gerlos . The facility, built in 2001, is 2904 meters long and overcomes a height difference of 462 meters. The facility has two intermediate stations that serve to make the Wilde Krimml also usable for skiing. The chairlift is operated by the Zeller Bergbahnen Zillertal GmbH & Co KG. After the 2019/2020 ski season, the system is to be replaced by a gondola lift that will have a direct route without intermediate stations.

Slopes

The intermediate ski slope 21 runs almost parallel to the cable car axis between the two middle stations. On the section to Gerlos, the slope is number 21a and after Zell it is number 22. These slopes cannot be artificially snowed as the Wilde Krimml, through which the slope runs , is under nature protection.

natural reserve

The Wilde Krimml is a quiet area in the Kitzbühel Alps . For the merger of the Zell am Ziller and Gerlos ski areas to form the Zillertal Arena, the Krimml-X-Press was built despite the negative nature conservation decision due to the previously natural area. There were protests against the construction of environmental protection associations, including the Austrian Alpine Association .
