Krinkberg ( Low German Krinkbarg for Ringberg ) refers to a group of Bronze Age burial mounds in the area of the municipality of Pöschendorf in the Steinburg district in Schleswig-Holstein .

Originally 29 burial mounds have been found in the Pöschendorfer area, most of which were already cleared in the 19th century and at the latest in the early 20th century. Two of the former eight burial mounds directly on the Krinkberg were opened in 1986 by the Krinkberg Foundation. V. , who looks after the system, was rebuilt. The largest burial mound was surrounded by a wall. It is believed that this tumulus was flattened and used for other purposes in the 8th or 9th century. The use as a tower hill castle , refuge castle , thing site , dance hill , pasture area etc. is discussed .

From the middle of the 19th century, various prehistoric objects were discovered on the Krinkberg. The largest documented find took place in 1885. These included axes, bronze chips, pieces of flint , pottery remains from Bronze Age ceramics, gold and silver coins, lance tips, pearls, sword fragments, silver chopped pieces and spurs from different epochs . Part of the find has been secured and is now in the State Archaeological Museum at Gottorf Castle . Among these finds are 91 silver coins, which probably come from the Carolingian period. As a mint, these bracteates mostly bear the coinage of Dorestad , several are perforated coins and some are said to be Nordic coins .
