Peter La Baume

Peter Franz Heinrich La Baume (born September 24, 1916 in Gdansk , † December 7, 1977 in Cologne ) was a German prehistorian .

Peter La Baume, son of the prehistorian Wolfgang La Baume , studied prehistory and early history in Gdansk, Kiel, Berlin and Königsberg, in 1950 he received his doctorate from the University of Kiel under Gustav Schwantes . From 1950 to 1953 he was an assistant at the State Museum for Prehistory in Schleswig, from 1953 he worked as a curator at the Roman-Germanic Museum in Cologne, most recently in the rank of chief curator .

In 1942 he married Ursula Berger in Strasbourg . La Baume died at the age of 61 in Cologne University Hospital .
