The Kristbergbahn is a cable car in Silbertal ( Montafon , Vorarlberg ) operated by the Montafoner Kristberg-Bahn Silbertal GmbH. It leads to a small winter sports area in the Kristberg parcel above Silbertal.
Technical specifications
The Kristbergbahn, 1988built , supplied as Pendelbahn of Silbertal-Innertal ( 889 m above sea level. A. ⊙ ) according Kristbergbahn, up to 1444 m (mountain station). The gondola, manned by a guide, holds 35 passengers or can be loaded with 2880 kg, the travel time over the 1575 m long route is about five minutes at a maximum of 7 m / s without stopping. There are intermediate stops at supports 2 and 3, where stops are made if necessary. These allow access to or exit from the gondola via stairs and a fold-out platform. The track was built by the Steurer company. The gondola comes from CWA Olten, the drive and suspension of the gondola were supplied by Voest Alpine, Linz . The 42 mm thick suspension rope (calculated breaking load 2225 kN) and the 24 mm thick pull rope (breaking load 446 kN) come from the company Austria Draht GmbH , Bruck an der Mur . The suspension rope is tensioned hydraulically with a force of approx. 550 kN, the pull rope with a weight of 10 t. The main drive (electric motor) has an output of 292 HP, the emergency drive (diesel engine) 130 HP.
A thorough renovation took place in spring 2016. Around 750,000 euros were spent on renewing the entire control, electrical and braking technology, as well as a new cabin and a new outlet.
Kristberg ski and winter sports area
The Montafoner Kristberg-Bahn Silbertal GmbH operates three lifts: The Kristbergbahn and two drag lifts from the Kristbergsattel for the winter season ( Kristberglift ⊙ , Sattellift ⊙ ).
In summer only the cable car is in operation. Bicycles are also transported with it. The area has around 4 km of slopes because you can ski down into the valley as a ski route if there is enough snow. There is also a connection to the Hochjoch Schruns ski area ( Kapellbahn ⊙ in Sibertal-Ausertal).
The Kristberg is especially developed as a touring area, it has 11 km of high altitude cross-country ski run (panorama cross-country ski run ), which among other things leads past the Wildried high moor . There are also over 40 km of prepared winter hiking trails , over 48 km of signposted snowshoe routes and four marked ski tour routes . Among other things, these lead to Muttjöchle ( 2074 m above sea level ), from which a rolled track leads down into the Sonnenkopf ski area .
The valley station of the Kristbergbahn is the terminus of the rural bus route 88 from Schruns .
