Radio Gong 97.1 (short: Radio Gong ) is a private radio broadcaster on the FM 97.1  MHz frequency and has been 100% owned by Studio Gong KG since 2011 .

history

Radio Gong successfully applied for one of the five terrestrial frequencies advertised on July 25, 1986, prevailing against a total of 36 applicants. On December 3, 1986, Radio Gong was one of four private broadcasters to go on the air. Originally the publishing house "Die Abendzeitung" GmbH & Co. KG (51%) and HFB Hörfunk- und Fernseh-Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG were the shareholders, in 2011 the Abendzeitung sold its share to HFB, which later became Studio Gong was renamed.

The station has been receivable in the greater Nuremberg area since November 1, 2012 via DAB + digital radio.

program

At that time, the station called itself a boulevard station and initially had market leadership in the target group of young radio listeners, which it later lost to Hit Radio N1 . Radio Gong now plays a mixture known as “Good Time Rock”, mainly rock music from the 1970s to the present day. The target group are the 30 to 50 year old radio listeners. The station describes itself as the club station of 1. FC Nürnberg and at times broadcast all club games live.

The radio station is part of the broadcasting center Nuremberg Studio-GmbH, the radio Gong in 1995 together with the three broadcasters Hit Radio N1 , Radio Charivari 98.6 and Radio F founded. In 1999, Pirate Radio was added as the fifth radio program .
