N90 4 Beat (also spelled "N90 4 .. BEAT") is a local private radio broadcaster in Nuremberg . He mainly plays hip hop and R'n'B music. for the target group of 15 to 35 year olds. The transmitter belongs to the Studio Gong transmitter group.

founding

The program was approved by the media council of the BLM supervisory authority in its meeting on June 6, 2019 as one of two new channels for connection to the local DAB broadcasting slot. Together with the broadcaster, the web radio Pirate Gong also returned to the DAB broadcasting route, which, however, remained on the Internet and was de facto also re-established under its (changed) broadcasting license, My Favorite Radio. The program represents an innovation in the coverage area. The two program providers were the only applicants for the two broadcast slots. When the company was founded, it was speculated about an intended VHF broadcast on 90.4 MHz, but according to the station the name of the station was merely a reference to the Nuremberg postal code 904xx.

program

The BLM has approved a 24-hour program with news and local topics from Franconia. Otherwise, both new programs broadcast “currently” unmoderated. International hip-hop titles from the 1980s and 1990s as well as music from the current hip-hop charts are played. These include Sido , the Fantastic Four , Snoop Dogg , Eminem and Jay-Z . Franconian and national newcomers are also played. In addition, there is the involvement of the listener via social media.

reception

The program is distributed under the label "90 .. 4Beat" via the local DAB + multiplex (channel 10C) with 88 kbit / s. With transmitters on the Nuremberg telecommunications tower (6 kW) and on the Dillberg (10 kW in single-wave operation), the in-house supply essentially extends to the urban area of Nuremberg and Fürth , the neighboring district of Nürnberger Land around the transmitter Dillberg and parts of the urban area of Erlangen and Herzogenaurach . There is also a mobile app and live streams on several streaming platforms, including via the station's homepage. An expansion to the radio player platform is also planned .
