Kristin De Troyer

Kristin Mimi Lieve Leen De Troyer (born May 26, 1963 in Ninove ) is a Belgian theologian and university teacher .

Life

She completed her studies in philosophy , religious studies , theology and religious education as a BA in Religious Studies ( Leuven 1983), BA Philosophy (Leuven 1984), BA Theology (Leuven 1986), MA Religious Studies (Leuven 1986), Diploma in Religious Education (Leuven 1986), MA Theology (Leuven 1987) and Dr. theol. ( Leiden 1997). From 1987 to 1989 she was a research assistant in the Old Testament department at the Catholic University of Leuven . From 1989 to 1998 she taught as a lecturer in the Old Testament at the Breda Catholic Seminary (1997–1998 department head). From 1998 to 2008 she taught as Professor of Hebrew Bible / Old Testament at the Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate University . From 2008 to 2015 she was Professor of the Old Testament / Hebrew Bible at the University of St Andrews . Since 2010 she has been a visiting professor at St. Katherine College. In 2010 and 2011 she was a lecturer at the Septuagint company ( Academy of Sciences in Göttingen & Theologikum, University of Göttingen). From 2013 to 2015 she was Dean of Arts & Divinity at St Andrews University. From 2015 to 2019 she was President of the European Society of Women in Theological Research. Since 2015 she has been Honorary Professor of the Old Testament at the University of St Andrews and Professor of the Old Testament in Salzburg .

Her main areas of work are the Septuagint , text history of the Old Testament and Greek Bible manuscripts.
