Kristina Herbst

Kristina Herbst (born August 24, 1977 in Bremen ) is a German ministerial and political official ( CDU ). Since June 28, 2017 she has been State Secretary for Rural Areas and Municipalities in the Ministry of the Interior, Rural Areas and Integration of the State of Schleswig-Holstein .

Life

After studying business administration , Herbst initially worked as an examination assistant at the Norddeutsche Treuhand- und Revisions-Gesellschaft , before joining the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Economics, Science and Finance in 2006. In the following years, she worked there for the areas of university controlling and project management for the structural renovation of the Schleswig-Holstein University Hospital . In 2014 she took over the project management for the renovation of the university hospital.

For the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2017 , the business administration graduate, who is a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, became part of the shadow cabinet of CDU top candidate Daniel Günther . She acts as deputy treasurer within the CDU Schleswig-Holstein . In the course of the formation of the Günther cabinet , Kristina Herbst was appointed State Secretary for Rural Areas and Municipalities in the Ministry of the Interior, Rural Areas and Integration of the State of Schleswig-Holstein by Minister Hans-Joachim Grote . In this function she is also the head of the ministry.

Herbst is married and has three children.
