Krist's Plendisis

Krists Plendišķis (born October 30, 1989 ) is a Latvian basketball coach and player.

career

Krists Plendišķis played in his Latvian homeland for Ventspils augstskola in the country's second division. In 2006 he came to Bremen and played in the following years for Vegesacker TV and BSG Bremerhaven in the second regional league and for the Bremen team in the youth basketball league . In addition, he gained coaching experience in the Bremerhaven youth sector.

In 2011 he moved to Cuxhaven as a coach, became assistant coach of the Cuxhaven BasCats in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA and at the parent club SV Rot-Weiss Cuxhaven head coach of the men's team in the major league and youth coach. Since BasCats head coach Vilmantas Matkevičius was absent for health reasons, Plendišķis initially took over the post of head coach in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA on an interim basis and then permanently. He held this office and signed a two-year contract in May 2012.

In the 2012/13 season the Latvian Cuxhaven led to fifth place in the ProA main round, in the playoff quarter-finals his team then lost to BG Karlsruhe . At the end of December 2014 he was relieved of his office, at which time the Lower Saxony occupied the last place in the table in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA.

For the 2015/16 season, Plendišķis moved to EBC Rostock, where he took over the coaching position of the men's team in the second regional league and tasks in the youth field. At times he acted for the Hanseatic League in the second regional league as a player-coach. He stayed in office until August 2017 and was introduced to the youth basketball league as head coach of the U19 boys' team of the Ehingen / Urspring syndicate a few days after he left Rostock . He also acted as an assistant coach for the second division team in Ehingen.
