Critical writings in separate editions

The Critical Writings in Single Editions is an edition of the literary, art, and music-critical writings and the travel books of Hermann Bahr (1863–1934), which were edited in 23 volumes between 2004 and 2013.

Hermann Bahr's largest edition of works to date includes almost all of his anthologies with essays. The unedited works are those of war propaganda and the volume Bayreuth (1912) written together with Anna Mildenburg . The diaries that Bahr's column of the same name collected in book editions are also not part of the edition .

It is a reading edition that also meets the standards of scientific citability . In addition to the literal reproduction of the original text , the volumes include the page numbering of the first edition , a list of misprints , translations of the foreign-language quotations and a register of persons . Editor and project

In 2004, Claus Pias began to publish the 'Critical Writings in Individual Editions' by Hermann Bahr, which are printed by VDG Weimar . All volumes published so far are available here both in book form and in Portable Document Format (PDF). After Claus Pias edited the first seven volumes himself, the next edition in 2009 became part of the FWF project “Hermann Bahr - Austrian Critic of European Avant-garde” at the University of Vienna (2009–2012), which he led. Since then, Claus Pias has had the complete overview, while Gottfried Schnödl looks after the individual volumes. With the relocation of Claus Pias to the Leuphana University Lüneburg , the project is managed as a cooperation between the universities of Vienna and Lüneburg. Since May 2011 the published volumes can be downloaded free of charge as PDF files from the project page.
