The Kritzower See is located in the municipality of Kritzow, south of the Müritz-Elde waterway between Lübz and Plau am See in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The lake to the east of the municipality of the same name is an elongated, very narrow lake with an extension in the north-south axis of about 2,800 meters and in the west-east axis of about 200 meters. Only in the north it is up to 750 meters wide. There is a bath here near the shore. Besides Kritzow, the municipalities of Lübz and Barkhagen border the lake . To the east of the lake is the Blockkoppel forest area .
The local parishes celebrate a service on Ascension Day at the northeast corner in Barkow .
