The Krokmyrliden is a eutrophic bog about 8 kilometers north of Mellansel and one of the few calcareous bogs in Ångermanland. The bedrock in Ångermanland consists largely of gneiss and granite , and plants that are adapted to acidic environments grow. Here, however, plants such as green hollow tongue , winter horsetail and mosquito handelwort occur. Rare plants that are otherwise not found in Ångermanland include Charles scepter , butterbur and blackhead sedge .
