The airlines Finnair and Finncomm Airlines maintain scheduled flights to several Finnish cities; charter flights to southern European holiday regions also start here.
The current municipality of Kronoby was created in 1969 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Kronoby, Nedervetil and Terjärv. Today the parish has three parish churches, which were built in 1822 and 1817 and 1774 respectively.
