The Krumme See is located in the Rostock district within the municipality of Lalendorf in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany) about 14 kilometers east of Güstrow and twelve kilometers west of Teterow . The lake is located between the Lalendorfer districts of Niegleve and Roggow. It is part of a chain of lakes north of Lalendorf around Niegleve. It is around one and a half kilometers long and 450 meters wide. The poorly indented body of water lies in a shallow, swampy depression. The area around the lake is used for agriculture, only in the south there is a smaller forest area.
The lake and its surroundings are part of the FFH area Nebeltal with tributaries, connected lakes and adjacent forests .
