The Kruppsche TG Essen (officially: Kruppsche Turngemeinde Essen 1910 eV ) was a sports club from Essen . The first soccer team became German champions of the German gymnastics association in 1930 . The first men's handball team once took part in the final round of the German championship.

history

In 1910, employees of Friedrich Krupp AG independently founded the Turnverein Götz and the Turnverein Roland . Nine years later, the two associations merged to form Kruppschen TG Essen. The Krupp company sports club existed at the same time . Both clubs were supposed to merge in 1939 to form the Krupp betting community , but this did not materialize. According to the statutes of the company sports association, only members of Friedrich Krupp AG were allowed to become members of the club. This would have meant that the Kruppsche TG would have had to exclude around 40 percent of its members. In 1943, Kruppsche TG Essen and TuS Essen-West formed the KSG Essen-West war gaming community . After the end of the Second World War , the Kruppsche TG Essen formed the Essen-West gymnastics community together with the Tuspo Essen association , the successor to the BSG Krupp .

Soccer

The footballers qualified in 1930 for the last German championship of the German Gymnastics Association. Via the stations TV Eintracht Dortmund , Rödelheimer TG 1847 and TV 1846 Mannheim , Essen reached the final. Here the team prevailed 5: 4 after extra time against MTV Harburg-Wilhelmsburg . After the gymnastics dispute had been settled , the footballers of the Kruppschen TG switched to the game operations of the German Football Association . There the team did not get beyond the local divisions.

Handball

The handball players of the Kruppschen TG Essen became Lower Rhine champions in field handball in 1942 and qualified for the German championship in 1942 . After a 9: 6 win over TK Köln-Nippes , they were eliminated in the round of 16 after a 5:19 defeat by the SV Hamburg police .

Fistball

The Kruppschen TG fistball team took third place in the 1921 German championship.
