Krystyna Marek

Krystyna Marek (born October 11, 1914 in Krakow ; † March 30, 1993 in Bern ) was a Polish lawyer, international lawyer , professor in Switzerland , activist in exile .

Life

Krystyna Marek was the daughter of the PSP activist Zygmunt Marek (1872-1931). In 1954, Krystina Marek defended her doctoral thesis in the field of international law . Marek taught at the University of Geneva . In the 1950s she worked for Radio Free Europe . She also worked on the Parisian Polish magazine Kultura . In the 1980s she was also active in the organization for aid to the interned Solidarność activists.

Her academic achievements include a number of works on international law. Since 1962 she was a member of the Polish Scientific Society in Exile ( Polskie Towarzystwo Naukowe na Obczyźnie ).
