action

Piper moves to Santa Cruz to study art there. She is also looking for her daughter, whom she had to give up for adoption at her mother's request. In eight-year-old Julia, who lives with her father Noah in Santa Cruz, she believes she has found her daughter again. Piper applies for a job in the sandwich shop of the old hippie Trucker and is hired immediately. She befriends her work colleagues, the punk chef Priestly, the promiscuous Tish and the shy Jen, and shortly thereafter makes contact with Noah and his daughter. While Piper forges ever more intense bonds with Julia, Tish goes out to Priestly's displeasure with the handsome Tadd, who always appears with his roommate Brad. Jen, who has been chatting with Fuzzy22 for a year, decides to meet her online friend and Trucker is more and more enthusiastic about Zo, the owner of a shop across from the sandwich shop. Piper and Tish join Jen on their blind date - which Jen leaves immediately when she realizes that Fuzzy22 is a handsome man her age. After the failed meeting, Fuzzy22 reports to Jen via chat in the evening, but Jen has already left and forgot to log out of the computer. Priestly takes the opportunity and explains the situation to Fuzzy22. Tish is sleeping with Tadd when the bedroom door opens and Brad enters - the two men want to have sex together. Tish doesn't want that, and an argument ensues, in the course of which Tish falls with his forehead on the edge of a chest of drawers and is lacerated. Piper learns that Julia is not her daughter as expected and hastily leaves the unsuspecting Noah. Trucker beats up Tadd, who won't leave Tish alone. Fuzzy22 comes to the sandwich shop and invites Jen to a rendezvous, and Priestly, completely different in appearance, asks Tish for one. Piper and Noah speak out and start a relationship, as do Trucker and Zo.
