Mohammad Vahabzadeh

Mohammad Vahabzadeh (* 1945 ; † August 20, 2017 in Düsseldorf , Germany ) was an Iranian table tennis player . He took part in three world championships in the 1970s . In 1974 he became German champions with Borussia Düsseldorf .

Career

Mohammad Vahabzadeh took part in the world championships in 1971 , 1973 and 1977 , but never came close to medal ranks.

In 1972 Mohammad Vahabzadeh moved from Tehran to Germany and joined the Borussia Düsseldorf club . With this he became German champion in the 1973/74 season. In 1975 he moved to NF Rheydt, in 1977 he was signed by TTC Jülich for the team in the 1st Bundesliga . In the 1981/82 season he played in the 2nd Bundesliga West at Blau-Weiß Krefeld and then returned to Borussia Düsseldorf, where he was used with the 2nd team in the major league.

Private

After the end of his active career, Mohammad Vahabzadeh ran several shops (carpets, shirts, ties) in Düsseldorf and Aachen. He has a son.
