Krzysztof Budzyń

Krzysztof Budzyń (born September 4, 1957 in Śrem ) is a Polish entrepreneur and lay historian who is particularly concerned with the history of the Śrem region in Greater Poland , he is also the author of numerous publications in this field.

Life

He has lived in the village of Binkowo near Śrem since he was born. After graduating from primary school in Pysząca, he attended Gen. Józef Wybicki High School in Śrem; After graduating from high school, he studied at the Faculty of Chemical Technology of the Technical University of Stettin , where he obtained the title of graduate engineer.

After graduating from university, he first worked in companies in the chemical industry, and in the late 1980s he decided to set up his own company. In 1990 he founded a wholesale company in the household chemicals and cosmetics industries in Śrem, which is still active today, and in 1995 he expanded his activities to include a chain of retail stores.

Work as regional historian

Despite his technical training and work as a businessman, Budzyń is interested in the humanities, especially history and literature, and is also involved in literary work.

He made his debut in 1981 with the Polish satirical magazine Szpilki as the author of Limericks . Since the early 1990s he has been writing articles on historical topics for local newspapers and for the Pierwiosnek magazine , which is published at the Gen. Józef Wybicki High School in Śrem. He is a bibliophile and collector of historical souvenirs - old maps, documents, photographs, postcards, mainly from the Śrem region, i. H. the powiat Śremski and the communities of Kórnik and Mosina , which belonged to the powiat Śrem earlier.

Since 2008 Krzysztof Budzyń Śremski Notatnik Historyczny ( Schrimmer Historical Notebook ), "a magazine for lovers of Schrimmer Land", is an irregular periodical that publishes articles on the history of the region and its personalities. From Sremski Notatnik Historyczny where Budzyn publisher, editor and author of many texts, has been released so far six issues.

From November 25, 2010 to January 31, 2011 the exhibition "Moja Ziemia Śremska (ze zbiorów Krzysztofa Budzynia)" ("My Schrimmer Land - from the collections of Krzysztof Budzyń") was presented in the Raczyński Library in Poznan .
