Ksenija Mikhailovna Sitnik , sometimes transliterated as Ksenia Sitnik ( Belarusian : Ксенія Міхайлаўна Сітнік, transliteration : Ksienija Michajlaŭna Sitnik; born May 15, 1995 in Masyr , Belarus ) is a Belarusian singer. She won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the self-written song My vmeste (We are together).

Life

Ksenija Sitnik was born on May 15, 1995 in Mazyr. Her mother Svetlana Statsenko worked as the director of a singing studio, her father Mikhail Sitnik is a businessman. Ksenija has an older sister named Nastya who has participated in children's singing competitions herself.

As a child, Ksenija received lessons at the singing studio, of which her mother was the artistic director. As a result, she took part in many competitions. At the Golden Bee Festival in Klimawitschy in 2004 she received a first degree diploma. In the same year she also took part in the Falling Stars festival in Nowa Ruda in Poland . In 2005, Ksenija took first place in the children's competition at the Slavianski Bazaar Festival in Vitebsk, which made her famous. In the same year she also took part in The Star Light Festival in Saint Petersburg .

At the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 Ksenija Sitnik represented Belarus with her song My vmeste . With 149 points and only three points ahead of runner-up Antonio José , she emerged as the winner. A year later their debut album, also called My vmeste , was presented. Overall, Ksenija also produced three music videos: 2006 for Malenkiy Korablik ("Little Ship"), 2007 for Prostaya Pesenka ("Simple Song") and 2009 for Non-stop .

Ksenija Sitnik attended high school in Minsk, where she graduated in 2013, as well as the Minsk Music School. Until May 2009 she also moderated a program on Belarusian television. On May 15, 2010, her second album, Respublika Kseniya (The Republic of Ksenijas) was presented on her 15th birthday .

In 2017, Ksenija Sitnik completed her journalism studies in Prague with a bachelor's degree. She now works as a freelance journalist and lives in Prague.
