Ksenija Oleksandriwna Symonowa ( Ukrainian Ксенія Олександрівна Симонова ; Russian Ксения Александровна Симонова22. April 1985 in Yevpatoria , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian artist who is with sand animation is concerned. With her sand animations, she was the winner of the Ukrainian version of Das Supertalent in 2009 .

The artist, who grew up in Crimea , uses ground lava sand because it is very fine-grained. Your animations are created on a light table illuminated from below on which a bed of sand lies. The thickness of the layer of sand on top allows the light shining through to become lighter or darker, which gives shape to your figures. The surface of the sand bed is visibly transferred to large screens for large audiences during your presentations.

Symonowa draws figures, people and other things with her hands and tells stories through immanent change, erasure and redrawing. Their formal language, speed and stylistic confidence put the audience in strong emotions and even tears.

She became known throughout Europe when she accompanied the Ukrainian Mika Newton's performance at the Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf in 2011 .
