Ksenija Wladimirowna Makejewa ( Russian Ксения Владимировна Макеева ; born September 19, 1990 in Ufa , Soviet Union ) is a Russian handball player .

Career

Makejewa played from the 2006/07 season at the Russian first division club GK Dynamo Volgograd . With Volgograd, the district player won the Russian championship in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 and the EHF Cup in 2008 . In the 2014/15 season Makejewa was under contract with the Romanian club HCM Baia Mare , with whom she won the championship, the Romanian Cup and the Romanian Supercup. She then joined GK Rostov-on-Don . With Rostov she won the EHF Cup in 2017 and the Russian championship in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Makejewa won the gold medal at the U-18 World Cup with the Russian youth national team in 2008 . Two years later, Makejewa won the silver medal with the junior national team at the U-20 World Cup and was also elected to the tournament's all-star team.

Makejewa has so far played 139 games for the Russian national team . With Russia she won the 2009 World Cup. She won the silver medal at the 2018 European Championships . At the 2019 World Cup , she won the bronze medal with the Russian selection.
