The Kubitzer Bodden is a bay of the Baltic Sea in the south-western area of ​​the island of Rügen . In the north, the bay is bounded by the Rügen peninsula Lieschow . In the east and south, the banks of the island of Rügen near Dreschvitz , Samtens and Rambin are the natural borders. The demarcation to the upstream Strelasund to the west is the line between the Bessiner Haken near Bessin in the south and the headland of the Lieschow peninsula in the north. There is a beacon on the Bessiner Haken .

The Kubitzer Bodden has its greatest depth in the area of ​​the fairway in front of the village of Rugenhof with approx. 3.5 m. In the central and western area of ​​the Bodden, the water depths vary between 2 and 3 m. The zones closer to the shore have depths of approx. 1.5 m. The shipping channel, the so-called "Black Stream", runs in the middle of the Bodden in a west-east direction.

The bay was named after the Ummanz district of Groß Kubitz, located on Rügen am Bodden . The Bodden is part of the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park and belongs to the West Rügen Bodden .

In the east of the Bodden lies the island of Liebitz .
