history
Dreschvitz: The first documentary mention was found in 1314 on an entry in an old deed of ownership. Originally as a street village with four large estates, Dreschvitz was only three kilometers away from the old so-called Salt Road.
The place was part of the Principality of Rügen until 1326 and then the Duchy of Pomerania .
With the Peace of Westphalia of 1648, Rügen and thus also the place Dreschvitz came under Swedish rule, after the place previously belonged to the Duchy of Pomerania . In 1815 the municipality and Western Pomerania became part of the Prussian province of Pomerania .
Since 1818 Dreschvitz has belonged to the district of Rügen . From 1952 to 1955 it was part of the Putbus district. The community then belonged to the Rügen district in the Rostock district until 1990, to the Rügen district since 1990 and to the Vorpommern-Rügen district since 2011.
Despite the closure of vacant lots and development of building plots, Dreschvitz has suffered a loss of residents since 1990. A variety of events are held in and around the House of Generations , a community center.
Ralow was first used as a princely castle from the time of Rügen prince Wizlaw III. (1265-1325) called. The Ralow estate was owned by the state and then u. a. with the families von Segebaden (16th century), von Hardt, von Bagewitz (1737 or 1746 to 1872) and von Esbeck- Platen (until 1935). The manor house was built in 1707, significantly rebuilt around 1880 and changed after 1945.

coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved by the Ministry of the Interior on March 30, 2010 and registered under number 331 in the country's coat of arms.
In 1989 a coat of arms was created for Dreschvitz on the occasion of the 675th anniversary celebration and flags and postcards were put into circulation. However, it was neglected to register the coat of arms properly. After that it was forgotten again. When the documents were rediscovered, it was found that this coat of arms is now being used in an identical version by a municipality in Schleswig-Holstein . After processing and registration for approval, the coat of arms was presented in a festive setting on April 24, 2010 by the Minister of the Interior of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The coat of arms was designed by the qualified designer Jürgen Frenkel from Dreschvitz.
Blazon : divided by a blue wavy bar, on silver side by side 2 green oak branches with 3 leaves and 1 acorn and on gold a wheelless black plow.
Reason: The municipality of Dreschvitz is characterized by a landscape rich in forests and water. The oak leaves are said to refer to forestry and the hunting tradition; the blue wavy bar represents the location on the Priebowsche Wedde lagoon coast. The plow symbolizes the agricultural use of the community.
flag
The flag is divided lengthways by white - blue - yellow; the wavy blue stripe takes up one seventh, the white and yellow stripes each take three sevenths of the height of the flag cloth. In the middle of the white stripe there are two green oak branches with three leaves and a green acorn lying to the left, in the middle of the yellow stripe a wheelless black plow. The relation of the height of the flag cloth to the length is like 3: 5. The flag was designed by graduate designer Jürgen Frenkel from Dreschvitz.
