history
The community was part of the Franzburg-Barth district until 1952 and then belonged to the Stralsund district in the Rostock district until 1994 .
Preetz was first mentioned in a document in 1254 as Poresze . The name is of Slavic origin and means something like situated on a river or stream . The location on the Prohner Bach also speaks for this.
According to earlier church records, Preetz belonged to the city of Stralsund from 1400 to 1700. After the Thirty Years War until 1815, the area belonged to Swedish Pomerania and then to the Prussian province of Pomerania .
An early German tower hill from around 1300 is located in the Preetz estate.
The Preetz estate was u. a. owned by the von Bohlen , von Langen -Keffenbrinck (from 1928) and Baerecke (until 1945) families . The romantic, historicizing manor house (castle) Preetz from 1881 is essentially much older.
Krönnevitz: The estate belonged in the 13th century a. a. of the Crane families and the Neuenkamp monastery and, from 1696, the Bahr family. The classicist Krönnevitz manor house was built in the mid-19th century.
Oldendorf The estate was owned by Fritz Droysen († 1945) from 1910 to 1945. The renovated manor house dates from the 18th century (reconstruction around 1900).
Schmedshagen was in the 14th century by Wizlaw III. , Prince of Rügen , to his Vogt Niclas Poddin. In the 1930s the estate was relocated. The manor house has been preserved.
