Kirch Baggendorf was settled by German settlers from the end of the 12th century. Baggendorf itself was first mentioned in a document in 1242. Presumably in the 13th century around 1240 the Cistercian monks built the church in Baggendorf from field stones and added the tower to it in the 14th or 15th century. In the 13th century, the knight Egertus Bekendorpe owned the manor, which the Bodinus family acquired in the 19th century. After 1945 the manor house housed the Russian commandant's office, then refugees and later also a sales point, and from 1972 the school.
