history

The community Millienhagen-Oebelitz was created on June 13, 1999 through the merger of the two communities Oebelitz and Milienhagen. Both districts were first mentioned in a document in the middle of the 13th century.

After the Thirty Years War until 1815, the area belonged to Swedish Pomerania and then to the Prussian province of Pomerania .

The community was then part of the Franzburg-Barth district until 1952 and then belonged to the Stralsund district in the Rostock district until 1994 . Millienhagen and Oebelitz have belonged to the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since 1990.

Oebelitz: The estate was owned by the von Oebelitz family from 1524 to 1696, after which the owners and tenants changed frequently. The decaying single-storey manor house was built around 1890 as a half-timbered house .

Steinfeld: Landowners were u. a. the von Oebelitz family (until the 15th century), then the Neuenkamp monastery , the Johann von Scheven (17th century), von Schlagenteuffel (after 1900) and Wedding (around 1937) families.
