Millienhagen-Oebelitz is a municipality southwest of Stralsund in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen . The municipality is administered by the Franzburg-Richtenberg Office , based in the city of Franzburg .
Geography and traffic
Millienhagen-Oebelitz is located about 15 km northwest of Grimmen and about 15 km northeast of Tribsees . The A 20 runs south of the municipality . This can be reached via the Grimmen-Ost connection (approx. 18 km).

history
The community Millienhagen-Oebelitz was created on June 13, 1999 through the merger of the two communities Oebelitz and Milienhagen. Both districts were first mentioned in a document in the middle of the 13th century.
After the Thirty Years War until 1815, the area belonged to Swedish Pomerania and then to the Prussian province of Pomerania .
The community was then part of the Franzburg-Barth district until 1952 and then belonged to the Stralsund district in the Rostock district until 1994 . Millienhagen and Oebelitz have belonged to the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since 1990.
Oebelitz: The estate was owned by the von Oebelitz family from 1524 to 1696, after which the owners and tenants changed frequently. The decaying single-storey manor house was built around 1890 as a half-timbered house .
Steinfeld: Landowners were u. a. the von Oebelitz family (until the 15th century), then the Neuenkamp monastery , the Johann von Scheven (17th century), von Schlagenteuffel (after 1900) and Wedding (around 1937) families.
Coat of arms, flag, official seal
The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag . The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the region of Western Pomerania . It shows an upright griffin with a raised tail and the inscription "GEMEINDE MILLIENHAGEN-OEBELITZ * LANDKREIS VORPOMMERN-RÜGEN".

Churches, religion
14% of the population are Protestant, 5% Catholic.
The Protestants are assigned to the Sankt Nikolai parish in neighboring Richtenberg ; this belongs to the Propstei Stralsund in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .
The Catholics belong to the parish of the Holy Trinity (Stralsund) , which is part of the Deanery of Western Pomerania of the Archdiocese of Berlin ; the congregation has a place of worship in Richtenberg.
