location
Valverdón is located 12 km from Salamanca in the Castile-Leon region in northwestern Spain. Valverdón is also located on the Río Tormes , one of the largest rivers in Spain. Numerous larger reservoirs shape the landscape around the place.
economy
The place consists mainly of old farmhouses, but the proximity to the big city allows new and modern houses to be built here too. There are two welding shops and a bakery, as well as four restaurants and a hotel that grew out of a hacienda built in 1366 . Christopher Columbus once stopped at the hacienda during the Valcuevo Conference .
Attractions
The old church with the annual stork's nest is worth seeing, which has become heavier and heavier over the years and may now have to be removed.
