Villaverde de Guareña is a small western Spanish municipality ( municipio ) in the province of Salamanca in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon . It is located about 15 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Salamanca . In 2019 it had 141 inhabitants.
geography
The area of the municipality is 15.87 km² and includes the main town only sparsely cultivated arable land and the hamlet of Cañadilla.
The municipality of Pedrosillo el Ralo is also crossed by the parallel roads N-620 and A-62 , to which the village has a connection. At the connection to the A-62 there are several petrol stations, a campsite and a small industrial area, which, however, already belong to the neighboring municipality of Pedrosillo el Ralo .
Population development
Like most other municipalities in the region, Villaverde de Guareña also experienced a sharp decline in population in the second half of the 20th century. In 2019 the municipality had only 141 inhabitants, although the population decline has leveled off again somewhat in recent decades.

Buildings
- Iglesia de San Cornelio y San Cipriano, church from the early 16th century. Because of its size, it is one of the three “Cathedrals of La Armuña” alongside the churches of Palencia de Negrilla and Villares de la Reina .
