San Esteban de la Sierra is a place and a municipality in western Spain ( municipio ) with 343 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in the province of Salamanca in the autonomous community of Castile-León .
location
The mountain village of San Esteban is located in the Sierra de Francia on the south bank of the Río Alagón at an altitude of about 630 to 660 m above sea level. d. It is approx. 64 km (driving distance) in a north-easterly direction to Salamanca ; the lovely city of Ciudad Rodrigo is located about 72 km to the northwest. The towns of Miranda del Castañar and Sotoserrano , located approx. 16 and 23 km southwest, are also worth seeing. Due to the altitude, the climate is moderate; Rain (approx. 465 mm / year) falls mainly in the winter half-year.
