Barruecopardo is a municipality ( municipio ) in northern Spain in the province of Salamanca in the autonomous community of Castile and León .
Surname
The current name goes back to the Leonese term "berruecu", which describes a loose, isolated rock, as can be found in large numbers in the area around Barruecopardo, combined with the term "pardo" for brown.
location
Barruecopardo is located in the northwest of the province of Salamanca at an altitude of about 730 meters above sea level. d. M. in the rocky landscape of the Arribes del Duero Natural Park near the Saucelle Dam , which dams the Río Duero .
