Monterrubio de Armuña is a western Spanish municipality ( municipio ) in the province of Salamanca in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon . It is located about 7 kilometers north of the provincial capital Salamanca and had 1,343 inhabitants in 2019.
geography
The area of the municipality is 10.97 km² and includes the main town as well as the small hamlet Mozodiel del Camino, which consists of only one farm. In addition to the two settlement areas, the community consists exclusively of arable land.
Population development
In contrast to the population of other municipalities in the region, that of Monterrubio de Armuña has developed surprisingly well. With the construction of larger residential complexes and terraced houses in the 1990s, the community's population exploded from just 125 in 1991 to 1,343 in 2019.
